5 Makeup Hacks Everyone Should Know

1. Flawless Mascara Application

Before applying your mascara, roll the tube between the palms of your hands to warm up the formula. This means that the mascara application will be smoother, with less clumps. A trick to use whilst applying is to wiggle the wand left and right to separate lashes and reduce clumps. Also, try blinking whilst applying for extra length!

2. Fixing Smudges

Q-tips are an easy way to clean up any mistakes or smudges you may have made.  Just dip it into a small bit of makeup remover or dab it onto your tongue (Is this disgusting? I don't know.) and wipe away the mistake, maybe add a dusting of powder to cover it up. It's especially helpful when cleaning up mascara that has transferred to your eyelid or dotted on your nose.

3. Make Your Eyes Twice As Brilliant

To make your eyes seem more awake use a white eyeshadow or liner in the inner corner of your eyes or use a while eyeliner on your lower lash line. If you want a more intense look tightline your eyes with a black eyeliner. This will also make your lashes look thicker and will "close the gap" you get between your lashes and eyelid when wearing eyeliner. You can use an eyeliner pencil or an small, angled brush with gel liner.

4. At Home Makeup Remover

If you run out of makeup remover you can easily remove your makeup using oil and cotton pads. For example, you can use baby oil, coconut oil or olive oil and your makeup will come right off. It works wonders on removing waterproof mascara and is a cheap alternative to an oil-based remover designed for the same job. Depending on which oil you use, this is also great for you as oils have a lot of benefits such as moisturising and hydrating your skin.

5. Make Any Lipstick Matte

If you're like me, you feel way more comfortable wearing matte lipsticks. Even the thought of lipgloss freaks me out, it just doesn't look right on me. Not to mention the texture of a traditional lipgloss wand on your lips. I get chills just thinking about it. However, matte lipsticks can be quite hard to find, especially if you're on a budget. That is if you don't want to use a cheap dupe that makes your lips like sandpaper. You can easily turn any lipstick into a matte by placing a tissue over your lips - it works best when you use a thin layer of tissue by pulling the layers apart - and dusting translucent powder onto your lips. Alternatively, you can pat it on with your fingers if you want more control over the look. I recommend priming your lips with a good lip-balm before hand so your lips don't dry up.

I hope these tips help you to transform your makeup and make you look as fierce as ever!
